Sasha Petraske’s latest venture veers from the Milk and Honey template. Cocktails are not the focus here, rather spirits – and, in particular, absinthe. The potent liquid is served with sugar and water in the traditional fashion; they also serve a range of aperitifs. It’s niche to be sure but Petraske is not without experience in the business. The space is attractive, full of the white star lanterns from which it takes its name, and the staff are nattily attired. It’s not the place to head if you want a cocktail, but in terms of atmosphere and style – Petraske’s other establishments have that covered – but if you’re after something different, this may well appeal.
